Patras Brewery

Brewery Experience

A New Microbrewery

Patras, Greece

2003

The plan is to renovate and re-use the inside of an existing building on Agiou Nikolaou Street, one of the most commercial and busiest streets in the centre of Patras.

The establishment of a small brewery in the town of Patras enables the public to observe the beer being made from start to finish. The visitor will be able to witness the creation of the beer and sample the various flavours. It is a tiny brewery where the beer is brewed in the same building and the production chain is accessible to the public.

The project comprises of a three-story space with one of each of the beer's production phases on each level. The reception and entrance of the basic beer ingredients are located on the top floor. On the next lower floor, there is a bar, a seating area, and containers where the ingredients ferment. On the ground level, there is another bar as well as a shop selling beer-related things. There are other containers where the beer is stored until it is used. A circular ramp connects the three floors, and there is a nice visual link between them.
