The nomination of 2017 European Capital of Culture has resulted in a design concept for a structure capable of hosting the program's many activities. The announcement of Pafos as the 2017 European Capital of Culture was seen as the beginning point for a high-quality design that reflected the program's enormous optimism, enthusiasm, and ambition.

The objective of the design concept was to increase the possibility for Pafos and the surrounding area to become contemporary cities and restore their rightful place in Cyprus and Europe. The aim has been to create a versatile and long-lasting place that can satisfy the demands of year-round activities and actions. As a result, to make a substantial contribution to a generalized upgrade in cultural production and infrastructure, as well as to the strengthening of the city's reputation and social relations. The idea includes the design of a stand-pavilion model with digital interactive elements that can be adapted to the demands of every event or the opening ceremony.
